There are many opportunities to lend your talents and gifts in worship and song here at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Try on a group, you never know, it just might fit! Those who sing pray twice.
Rehearsals! Rehearsals! Rehearsals!
Adult Choir-The adult choir is open to 9th grade students- adults with a desire to sing and help lead the assembly in sung prayer. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm, and a half hour before liturgies scheduled. The adult choir sings at one mass per weekend, and special liturgies throughout the year. Please let us know you want to join.
Childrens Choir- is open to all 2nd-8th grade students. Rehearsals are after school Thursdays, 4:30-5:30pm in the church and sing at one mass per month as scheduled. During the year, choristers learn music theory as well as information about the church year. Childrens choir is scheduled to sing October through Easter. Following each choir rehearsal at 5pm, students are invited to stay for a 30 minute group keyboard lessons in the keyboard lab connected to the Activities Center as part of the choir experience.
Choir with keyboard lab 4:30pm-5:30pm. Please call or email to sign up, there is a minimum number of students needed to have this group.
Cantors-The Cantor program is for soloists to help lead the assembly and encourage active participation in sung prayer. Rehearsals are as scheduled.
Instrumentalists- Any instrumentalist with a desire to participate in worship, please contact the music office. Rehearsals are as scheduled.
Instrumental Ensemble- A group of instrumentalists that lend their talents to worship every couple of months. Rehearsals are as scheduled.
Resurrection Choir-This chorus is open to all parishioners who wish to sing for funeral or memorial liturgies for those buried from the St. Thomas community. Rehearsals are one half hour before the liturgy begins. Please call and add your name to the list.
